New A Class info - Quite long

Post by MozeyPanda » Fri Nov 17, 2017 9:36 am

Article: https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new- ... aunch-date

Looks like the new lower AMG will be known as the A35 which I suspected and would have around 300BHP whereas the next A45 will have 400+, both having mild hybrid capabilities.

Another interesting bit is the options list will be more with like 2 10.3inches digital displays.

Just seen this https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new- ... y-interior

Got to say I really like it. Looks much more like the quality youd expect from MB compared to ours.

On checking the local dealership sites I spotted this last night: - https://www.sandown-group.co.uk/used-ca ... 876819243/

New A35 appears to be fully loaded but priced at £52,794 seems to be a hell of a lot of money to me? I doubt I'll even look at it at that kind of money especially as we missed out a few days ago on a really nice C43 Coupe at under £45K in Selenite on 19 miles only!

I agree that's way too much money, when you can get a low mileage A45 for a lot less

Jeeeez that’s steep! Imagine the price of a fully specced A45 when that arrives!

Ahhh but then I’m imagining the bang for buck I’m gonna get when I bag one a year or 2 old that’s had one hell of a depreciation hit

Agree totally with your thought Matt, in view of supposed initial costs around £35K seems that the optional prices may have increased just a shade? As usual reflect a cheaper initial outlay than increase everything a normal buyer would be looking for more or less exactly the same scenario with BMW.

There's no doubt whatsoever it's pointless even considering buying a new car today, the same site has two '68 registered GLA45's and the most expensive is listed at 41K which is considerably less than the A35. Obviously they don't have the new MBUX etc but to my mind there's no justification in MB believing the public are stupid?

Yeah I bought mine at 2yrs old for £29k and it’s got quite a few options. I can imagine it was a good £40k off the forecourt.

I’d be looking to do the same in 2021/2
